** spoiler alert ** Ok, lets get some things covered first before I tell all about this book 🙂

1. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review 🙂
2. This was the first book I’ve read for this author, and I LOVED IT!!!
3. I loved the writing style, the adventure, the romance, the experience of reading a new book from a new author 🙂 and I love the cover 😉

Now for the summary:

This book took place in the 1920s in the European colonial outposts of the 1920s, and it was about Evangeline going on a journey to see the world, and ends up finding intrigue, danger and a love beyond all reason, and guess who the love is? Oh yeah!! It’s her husband!!!! (Gabriel is his name by the way)

Once upon a time, they had been a golden couple, enjoying a whirlwind courtship amid the backdrop of a glittering social set in prewar London; until supposedly he died with the sinking of the Lusitania.

With Evangeline five years later, finally getting over the loss of her husband, she begins to embrace life again, flying around the world, collecting fame and admirers along the way. In the midst of her tour, she is shocked to receive a recent photograph of Gabriel, which brings her tour to a halt.

With her aunt (Dove) in tow, Evie tracks the source of the photo to the ancient City of Jasmine, Damascus (OMG THE TITLE!!! :D).

There nothing is what it seems (ooooooo)
Danger lurks at every turn, and at stake is a priceless relic, an artifact once lost to time and so valuable that criminals will stop at nothing to acquire it (even murder :O).

Leaving the City of Jasmine behind, Evie now has a quest; and its to set off across the punishing sands of the desert to unearth the truth of Gabriel’s disappearance and retrieve the artifact straight from the pages of history.

Along the way, Evie must come to terms with the deception that parted her from Gabriel and the passion that will change her destiny forever… And of course, Evie finds Gabriel, Gabriel explains himself, and they fall in love once again 🙂

This book I didn’t really start on the 27th of February, it was really yesterday, which is why I hardly posted the “current reading” pages, because I read it all in one sitting, and believe me this book may’ve been different from what I’m used to reading, but when I encounter a book with adventure, mystery, and romance, I’m on board!!!

So, Thanks goodreads for providing me with this book 🙂
*Recommend if you would like to go on a quest with Evie; (and yes there’s romance and mysteries to be solved along the way)
